What I’m all about

Opportunities & entrepreneurship

Early on in life, I quickly noticed interesting opportunities. For example in boarding school. I was away from home for a whole week, just like the other students. But more importantly, away from sweets. For that reason, my little self-started (lucrative) candy business did very well. And made my fellow students happy.

Similarly, I organized covert pizza nights. So I made deals with the local pizzerias to secretly provide tens of pizza’s, at the edge of the woods surrounding the school grounds. Now, imagine this: a dozen highschool boys, hiding in the bushes not to be discovered and anxiously waiting for the pizza delivery guy. Then, the pizza guy arrives, dims his moped’s light (he was in on the deal too, of course!) and completes a near silent money transaction. The best meal of the week! You get the picture, right?

Expert among peers

Later, at university my friends and fellow students loved gaming over the internet. So I set up an in-house network, routing and firewalling included. Hence, I looked after my friends and fed my inner nerd! Soon after, a more advanced project followed: I created a rendering farm for friends who were into 3D modeling.

Non-nerdy too

No, it is not only technical stuff. Playing golf for example. Although I have discovered an obvious and apparent lack of top talent, I enjoy it. Recently, some of my friends started playing golf too. Therefore, over a pint and mostly laughs, I organize a bi-weekly training session with them. Then we display the ‘progress’ of our swings. At the very least, my main objective is helping them get a handicap. However, the end goal is a golfing trip abroad.

First of all, karting gives me my adrenaline rush. Next, stand-up comedy makes me laugh. At Cafe The Joker in Antwerp, I love discovering new and upcoming talent. Finally, as a wine-lover, I have successfully completed a training that makes me ‘master wine taster’.
